Every identity belongs here
At Kindred Quest Therapy, LGBTQ+ clients can expect…
Full affirmation of identity and pronouns.
Trauma-informed care.
Developmentally appropriate therapy for all ages.
A space free of pressure to explain or define yourself.
Respect for the pace of your process.
To be celebrated.
At Kindred Quest Therapy, we proudly support LGBTQ+ individuals of all ages; children exploring who they are, teens navigating identity and belonging, and adults carrying both the beauty and complexity of their stories.
I understand that for many LGBTQ+ people, the journey toward self-acceptance has included moments of confusion, isolation, rejection, or invisibility. These experiences can shape our sense of self and relationships in lasting ways.
Our work is grounded in the belief that your identity is not the problem, it is a source of strength. Healing focuses on tending the places where connection has been strained, safety has felt disrupted, or authenticity has felt risky.
LGBTQ+ Children
Children may begin expressing questions around identity, belonging, or difference at young ages, even if they don’t have the language to name them yet.
Using Child-Centered Play Therapy and expressive modalities, sessions give children a developmentally safe way to explore emotions related to:
- Self-discovery and identity.
- Family transitions or questions of safety and belonging.
- Peer relationships and bullying.
- Anxiety or big emotions.
- Feeling “different” or misunderstood.
Play becomes the bridge to emotional expression without pressure to label or define anything prematurely. Children are met with warmth, acceptance, and curiosity exactly as they are.
LGBTQ+ Teens
The teen years are a powerful season of identity exploration and for LGBTQ+ teens, it can carry added layers of vulnerability, isolation, or fear of rejection.
Teen sessions create a confidential, validating space to explore:
- Gender identity, sexual orientation, and self-expression.
- Anxiety, depression, and stress.
- Coming out or not coming out on their own terms.
- Body image and self-esteem.
- Peer or family relationship challenges.
- Experiences of discrimination or feeling unsafe.
Through talk therapy and expressive tools, teens are supported in developing emotional regulation, authentic self-expression, and confidence in who they are becoming.

LGBTQ+ Adults
Many LGBTQ+ adults carry complex experiences shaped by early attachment wounds, relational trauma, cultural stigma, or long periods of living unseen or unheard.
Kindred Quest offers a space to heal and grow through:
- Processing identity development and late self-discovery.
- Healing family or faith-based rejection wounds.
- Relationship patterns and intimacy challenges.
- Processing traumatic events.
- Building confidence and self-trust.
- Navigating life transitions and authenticity.
Using attachment-focused and trauma-informed therapy models, we work together to soften old survival patterns and create deeper connections with yourself and your authenticity.
